History Writers and Thinkers

phrases on the History of Writers and Thinkers

(phrases to discuss and think in class)

If history is written by winners, it means that there is another story, true.

Eduardo Mignogna

"History is a prophet with his eyes turning back: for what was, and against what was, what will be announced"

Eduardo Galeano

I write for those who can not read me. The Underdogs, who have waited for centuries in the history queue, can not read or do not have to do.

There is one place where past and present meet and recognize and embrace. That place is tomorrow.

. Eduardo Galeano

Mechanical History is not because men are free to change it.

The story ... witness of the times, light of truth, living memory, the master of life, witness of antiquity.

Cicero

Humans make their own history, albeit under circumstances influenced by the past.

Perhaps the greatest lesson of history is that no one learned the lessons of history.

Five causes of Arab insurgency. Ignacio Ramonet. Le Monde Diplomatique. Remembering

And one last question, I borrow a John Le Carré:

- Are they going to kill many people, Dad?

"Nobody you know, son. Only foreigners.

Eduardo Galeano

Five causes of Arab insurgency. Ignacio Ramonet . Le Monde Diplomatique.

What Causes of the wind of freedom, from Morocco to Bahrain, via Tunisia, Libya and Egypt, blowing over the Arab world? Reasons why these simultaneous yearning for democracy are expressed now? To these two questions, responses are diverse: historical, political , economic climate and social.

1. Historical.

Since the end of World War the implosion of the Ottoman Empire, the interest of Western powers in the Arab world (Middle East and North Africa) has had two major incentives:

-controlled oil and ensure a Jewish national home. After the Second World War and the universal trauma of the Holocaust, the creation of the State of Israel, in 1948, had its counterpart came to power in several Arab states freed from colonialism, Zionist forces (as opposed to the existence of Israel ): type "military nationalist" in Egypt and Yemen, or character "Arab socialist" in Iraq, Syria, Libya and Algeria.

lost three wars against Israel (1956, 1967 and 1973) led to Egypt and Jordan signed peace treaties with the Jewish state and alignment with United States-controlled and under Cold War-all the oil kingdoms of the Arabian Peninsula as well as Lebanon, Tunisia and Morocco. Thus, Washington and its Western allies kept their two main objectives: control of oil and the security of Israel. In return, they protected the permanence of vicious tyrants (Hassan II, General Mubarak General Ben Ali, the Saudi king Faisal, Fahd and Abdullah, etc.) and sacrificed any democratic aspirations of societies.

2. Policy.

States in alleged "Arab socialism" (Iraq, Syria, Libya and Algeria), under the convenient pretext of "anti-imperialist struggle" and "communist fighter," also established one-party dictatorships, ruled with an iron fist anthology by despots (Saddam Hussein, Al Assad father and son, and Muammar al-Gaddafi, the most insane of them.)

guaranteeing Dictatorships, moreover, the supply of hydrocarbons from Western powers and that no actual threat to Israel (when Iraq seemed to do was destroyed). Thus, on the Arab citizens, dropped a slab of silence and terror. The waves of democratization taking place in the world. Disappeared in the 1970's, dictatorships in Portugal, Spain and Greece. In 1983, Turkey.

After the fall of the Berlin Wall in 1989, the Soviet Union collapsed and the "real socialism" in Eastern Europe. Latin American military dictatorships fell in 1990. Meanwhile, a few kilometers from the European Union, with the complicity of Western powers (including Spain), the Arab world remained autocratic state of glaciation. By not allowing any form of critical expression, the protest was located in the only venue not banned, the mosque. And about the only book not objectionable, the Koran. This was to strengthen the Islamists. The most reactionary was released by Saudi Arabia with strong support from Washington who saw in it an argument to support the Arab peoples in the "submission" (meaning of the word 'Islam').

But also emerged, especially after the "Islamic revolution" of 1979 in Iran, political Islam found in the verses of the Koran arguments to demand social justice and denounce corruption, nepotism and tyranny. Thus were born several more radical branches, ready to seize power by violence and holy war. "

This spawned Al Qaeda ... After the attacks of September 11, 2001, the Western powers, with the complicity of "friendly dictatorship", they added a new reason to keep under tight control in Arab societies: the fear of Islam. Instead of understanding that this was the consequence of the lack of freedom and the absence of social justice, added more injustice, more despotic, more repression ...

3. Economic.

Several Arab states suffered the impact of global crisis started in 2008. Many workers in these countries, immigrants in Europe, lost their jobs.

Gabriel Celaya on its centenary.

Gabriel Celaya. Educate

EDUCATE ...
Educate
is the same
to put into a boat motor ...
to measure, weigh, balance ...
... and get up and running.
For that,
one has to carry the soul
some marine ...
a little pirate ...
some poet ...
and a kilo and a half of patience
concentrated.
But it is comforting dream
while you work,
that boat, that child
go far for water.
dream that this ship
words carry our burden of
to ports distant
to remote islands.
dream that one day when
sleeping our own boat,
in new ships will
our flag hoisted
.

Flaky Skin And Hair Loss On Dogs

: Testimonials

I'm still in swim class, I have not abandoned. The monitor (hereafter call it ... em ... Monitor) that gives me class is majete, although from the first day I saw him, I'm in a sea of \u200b\u200bdoubt. Since I could not waved away a thought in my head:

How I know this guy? Monitor

sounds like a lot. In fact I want to sound of a night of drinking and dancing. Going to sound horrible, but it seems to me that this guy took me sometime Pleistocene. Or just looks like a guy who tried unsuccessfully to link with us? I do not know, the night (and the time and glasses) I'm confused. The point is that you perfectly visualize the site of Molona music and people talking past the ear thread smarmy tone. The next question is: do you remember him from such a thing? Sound familiar? Or definitely confused me uncle or life?

Sometimes those questions makes me feel a little uncomfortable. This inconvenience will one day become great shame for something that happened. I was stuck in the pool, hanging on the curb waiting to give me instructions (four long Crowler doing handstands on the bottom of the pool and singing the Marseillaise!), till it came and squatted. With legs spread. I look at his face, but on the way from the curb to your face, my eyes stumbled upon something.

Get on your face. I could not believe I had to check, so I took one second quick look, but no other intention. Yes

egg, and all their hairs protruded from his shorts!

I looked down, grabbed me even more with my hands and dug my eyes curb its rough texture. The curb, of course. But this guy how many people will taught her genitalia? Would not be aware that from below, if it does not underwear or has very loose, if it becomes so, you see the eggs? Is it an oversight? "A strange tactic of sexual approach? "" Need for freedom and to air their young? "Hippie rebel? While I thought all this, trying not to look up, because if you do not control, sometimes the eyes will not want certain things you should not look like tits too lush or an accident or grain or egg huge treacherous. And I repeated like a mantra "miraelbordillo, elbordilloestuamigo, québonitoypocopeludoestubordillo).

- And blablabla, you take these weights and do four lengths back ... Ok?

- Yes

- Misia, have you heard insurance?

- Sísisisisi.

I began to swim quickly, to remove the shock off. Seeing the egg on my monitor, the same I think he tried to flirt with me years ago, I did feel a tad uncomfortable. Half of the pool became uncomfortable feeling of ridiculousness and I got a fit of laughter. I had to grab the lane because of the laughter began to swallow water and gasping.

Back to my curb, I noticed Monitor:

- Eh! do not drown, I just snack and I'm not jumping in the pool for you. "

top of that was because of her egg, not mine.
